About This Place

La Noxe is a captivating cocktail bar tucked away in the vibrant heart of New York City at 315 7th Ave, with its entrance cleverly hidden near 162 W 28th St. This speakeasy-style venue expertly blends exclusivity with an intriguing urban vibe, offering a truly immersive nightlife experience. Guests enter through a subway station stairway—a unique approach that instantly sets the tone for an evening marked by curiosity and adventure.

Inside, the atmosphere is intimate, defined by moody, seductive lighting and sleek, minimalist design that invites you to escape the city's hustle. While the space is cozy and on the smaller side, this only enhances the feeling of privacy and exclusivity that regulars and newcomers alike appreciate. Some visitors have noted that timing plays a key role in La Noxe’s energy; arriving too early might mean a quieter scene that leans more towards tranquil than lively, but this calm only deepens the sense of anticipation for the night ahead.

La Noxe’s drink menu reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and balance, featuring highlights like the Majestic Martini, refreshing Mojito, and the playful Sex on the Beach, all of which awaken the palate and complement the bar’s alluring ambiance. The cocktail artistry is praised by many customers for delivering well-constructed and memorable drinks, even if the pricing skews on the premium side—an investment many find worthwhile for the quality and setting.

The tapas selection further enriches the experience. The BAR MIX—comprising Castelvetrano olives, premium mixed nuts, and sea salt potato chips—is a perfect starter to nibble on while enjoying your cocktail. The Jalisco’s Way guacamole, topped with feta and radish and served alongside homemade tortilla chips, offers a creamy yet tangy bite that pairs beautifully with any drink. For those seeking something heartier, the El Raval Serrano ham and Manchego cheese platter with baguette and baby sour pickles delivers a rich, savory note.

Dessert at La Noxe is equally indulgent; their famed Flan, infused with Madagascar vanilla and velvety condensed milk, offers a luxuriously smooth and sweet finish. For a more decadent choice, the classic Tiramisu—layered with espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone, and a shot of Grand Marnier—feels like a celebration in every bite.

Consistent across reviews is the appreciation for La Noxe’s ambiance and its distinctive entrance via the subway stairs, which many customers describe as a “cool” and genuinely unique feature of the venue. While some experienced a slightly rushed service or quieter moments early in the evening, the general consensus applauds the cozy atmosphere, well-executed cocktails, and the bar's rare ability to transport guests away from the everyday into a clandestine night of enjoyment.

For anyone seeking a cocktail bar that pairs urban sophistication with a secretive edge, La Noxe is a compelling destination. Whether you're a local or visiting New York’s nightlife for the first time, this intimate speakeasy promises an experience that is as much about discovery as it is about savoring expertly crafted drinks in a beautifully understated setting.

La Noxe is one of those spots that thrives on exclusivity; hidden entrance, moody lighting, sleek design — but timing is everything here. I had an 8:30 reservation and walked into a completely empty space. Instead of feeling intimate, it leaned a little too quiet, almost like we had arrived before the party started. The cocktails were well-balanced and thoughtfully crafted, but at this price point I was hoping for the atmosphere to match the drinks. Service was polite, though with no one else around, the energy felt flat rather than elevated. One thing worth noting: there’s only a single bathroom, and by the time I went in, it was clear the men before me hadn’t exactly aimed well. Not the chicest detail for a speakeasy-style bar that leans on exclusivity. I can see how La Noxe could be a fun late-night stop when the room is buzzing and the concept really comes alive. At 8:30, though, it felt more novelty than magic. A spot worth experiencing once, but one where the when matters just as much as the where.

A very nice speakeasy bar with a good selection of cocktails and other beverages. The mood lighting was good to set up a nice atmosphere. The real cool thing is that you actually exist through an actual subway station to the street. Very cool and we had a great overall experience here.

The first time I came here was around 7pm on a week night. I didn’t have a reservation and they were at capacity, so we ended up going to another bar. This was my second time trying to come to this bar and I made reservations for 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. When we got there, the bar was at about 50% capacity, so we could have walked in, if we wanted to. The drinks we good. I got the secret garden with mezcal and kale juice. It wasn’t strong or too sweet. Overall, I enjoyed the vibe of the bar and my drink.

The drinks were good though quite expensive and the decor and atmosphere was nice. The space was small but when we went around 8/9pm there was no wait. The server rushed us a bit but excusable due to the size of the space. It was a fun speakeasy experience as the bar exits into the stair landing of a subway entrance.

Not surprising this place had a long wait list the second they opened. One of the best and most unique bars I've been to. The bar and space is everything you want it to be. The bar is truly is in the subway, and it embraces that (see the drink name below). At the same time, it's chic in a very classy way. The vibe is intimate, but lively. Perfect for date night. My girlfriend and I had a great time! I got the Uptown Local and she got a chablis. Shout-out to Jay, the owner. He had the perfect wine recommendation for what she was in the mood for. Their specialty, the Uptown Local was delicious. It has tropical notes from the pineapple rum and coconut but has an oak-like mature finish. Perfect cocktail for any mood. Get on the wait list now because it's only going to get longer :)
